We are pleased to accept non-perishable goods in original packaging.  Opened, expired, and homemade goods cannot be accepted. We also welcome donations of unused toiletries including bar soap, toilet paper, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, floss, etc.

Please bring your donations to the Ranchlands Community Center – 7713 Ranchview Dr NW, Calgary, AB T3G 2B3. They can be left in our lobby donation bin during office hours – Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pm. To arrange donation outside these times, please email rfp@ranchlandscommunity.com

The RCA will also accept monetary donations or gift cards. These funds will be used to purchase items when the pantry is running low. Please email ranchlandscommunity@outlook.com or call (403) 241-0335 to make donations of this type.

Donations of $20 or more to the Ranchlands Food Pantry are now eligible for a tax donation receipt, whether you give cash, gift cards or food items. In order to qualify, you must include your full name and address as well as the purchase receipt for any gift card or food donations. Expired food items can not be credited. Donations will be processed and a tax receipt will be issued and mailed to you the following month. For more information, please contact the office.

In alignment with the Food Banks of Canada, the Ranchlands Food Pantry adheres to the following guidelines for distributing items beyond their best before dates (BBD). BBD indicates overall quality including taste and texture, but does not relate to food safety:

– Bread: 1 week past BBD
– Dairy products: 2 weeks past BBD
– Produce: 1-4 weeks past BBD
– Frozen ground meats: 2 months past BBD
– Dried/packaged goods or frozen whole meats: Up to 6 months past BBD
– Canned goods: Up to 18 months past BBD

On some occasions we may repackage bulk quanities (eg. rice, flour) into smaller portions to enable distribution to multiple households. In these circumstances, volunteers will open and re-package dry goods in the Ranchlands Community Association AHS approved kitchen, following all safe food handling practices. Packages will be clearly labelled with the product information as well as the date of repackaging.
