Tax Receipt
Donations of $20 or more to the Ranchlands Food Pantry are eligible for a tax receipt, including cash, gift cards, and food donations. To qualify, donors must include their full name and mailing address, along with purchase receipts for any gift card or food donations. Expired food items cannot be credited. Tax receipts are processed and mailed the following month. For more information, please contact the office.
Food Safety Practices
In alignment with Food Banks of Canada guidelines, the Ranchlands Food Pantry may distribute food items beyond their best before dates. Best before dates relate to quality, not food safety. On occasion, bulk dry goods such as rice or flour may be repackaged into smaller portions to allow distribution to multiple households. Repackaging is completed by volunteers in the RCA’s AHS-approved kitchen, following safe food handling practices, and all items are clearly labelled with product information and the date of repackaging.
