As we approach our Annual General Meeting and Board Election, we are looking to connect with residents who might like to join!
The Ranchlands Community Association is run by our board of directors, a group of amazing volunteers who serve for a one year term. These amazing volunteers are the voice of the community, working closely with the City of Calgary, the Ward 2 Councillors office, the Calgary Police and even our MLA and MP to address issues our community is facing. They are also the people who create some of our amazing projects, plan programs and host events for our residents. The behind the scenes is a bit less glamorous, with managing the Ranchlands Community Association building and applying for grants and funding opportunities. All of the board members are residents of the community and come from various backgrounds, which only helps broaden our depth of expertise and connections, but we always need new people!
If any of this sounds like something that might be of interest, why not come down and chat with us! A few members of our current board of directors will be available to ask any questions you might have, talk about the nitty gritty of what we do and of course, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with. Or even if you aren’t thinking of joining the board, you can absolutely pop in to ask about any volunteer roles or opportunities, programs we offer or even just to touch base about things in the community!
While it’s not mandatory to attend this event to run for election at the AGM, we do hope to see you there!
