Grab your wheelbarrows and shovels and come be a part of a historic day for the RCA!

On Saturday Sept 17th 2022 at 10am, we will be breaking ground on the Ranchlands Edible Forest by planting 12 fruit trees on the south side of the basketball court.

Made possible by generous funding through TreeCanada and the TD Parks People Grant, the Ranchlands Edible Forest will offer an opportunity for residents to come harvest free,  fresh and local fruit.

The heavy work of digging holes will be completed in advance, however we do need volunteers to help with moving mulch into position around the trees.

We also need a photographer or two that can come down and get photos of our board members and volunteers working hard (you will be credited for all photos used across various publications and social media). Lunch will be provided to volunteers so if you’re able to come help, please sign up now!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Lunch will be provided to all volunteers
  • Please complete one per person so we can adequately plan for feeding everybody
  • Work wear is highly recommended, up to and including gloves
  • Children are permitted to come assist but please note there will be no child-care provided and there will be work occuring, so parents and guardians are required to keep children under their close supervision at all times.

Please complete one per person (so we can adequately plan for feeding everybody)

If you can’t help on planting day but have a wheelbarrow you would be willing to lend us, please send us an email and so we can arrange a day that you can drop it off.

A huge thanks to our sponsors:
